Facility
and Simulation Lab
The Center for MEDICS provides a classroom
environment that is second to none, as
we continuously pursue avenues in which
technology can enhance a student's productivity
and learning experience.
At the center of the 8,000 square-foot
facility is the Simulation Lab, which includes
emergency room and apartment settings for
patient care scenarios. Both settings are
equipped with state-of-the-art technology,
allowing students to learn emergency medical
procedures that are difficult to practice
anywhere else because the equipment is
not largely available. The Center for MEDICS
is the first EMS agency in the Northeast
to operate a fully functioning Simulation
Lab.
In addition to the Lab,
students benefit from access to fully equipped
conference and lecture rooms, which allow
them to either gather as a large group
or break out into smaller groups to discuss
topics in-depth. Research can be conducted
in the Center for MEDICS' library, or in
the practical skills area where students
can perform experiments or work on mastering
new skills.
